Released in 1999, Planescape Torment is a tremendous RPG Game that was ahead of its time. With a beautiful storyline, amazing open-ended gameplay and a highly interactive dialogue, this might be the perfect game. In Planescape, you play as an amnesic immortal trying to piece together his checkered past. With a deep story and tremendous writing, Planesacpe is a true classic.
Parallax – Steam
This amazingly fun first person puzzle game allows you to move in and out of universes to solve various puzzles. In Parallax, you’ll find beautiful levels, realistic physics, and a unique experience that causes you to easily lose track of time.
Dark Cloud 2 – PS2
This classic action/RPG game represents the best of PlayStation 2 graphics. In Dark Cloud, you are a builder/fighter navigating in a huge open world environment. Follow and control your character as you customize weapons, rebuild towns, and play unique subgames. In Dark Cloud 2 there’s never a dull moment, there is just so much you can do!
Psychonauts – Steam/PS2/XBOX
This intelligent and fun platform game is extremely addicting. In Psychonauts, you play as an adolescent learning how to enter people’s minds to sort out their mental problems. From there you go on an adventurous mindbender that is witty, highly interactive, with great looking art. Once you start, be prepared, as it might take hours before you can pull away from this addicting classic.
Breakdown – Xbox
This one-of-a-kind first person action game is dramatically underrated. Breakdown emphasizes fighting by punching your opponents, which is a blast. Let’s face it, who doesn’t like to beat people up with their bare hands every once in a while? Although high on the fun factor, this game can be challenging, yet is a game you will never forget.
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy XBOX/PS2/PC
Using telekinesis while fighting terrorist proves to be the perfect combination for Psi-OPS. This 3rd person shooter is fun from start to finish and has fluid gameplay. Your weapon choices in this game are unbelievably amusing; you can use telekinesis, flame throwers, machine guns, pistols, explosives and more. Psi-ops is the only game I’ve ever heard of that allows you to use six psi-powers. A true gem.
The Saboteur – PS3/ X360/PC
This open-world action adventure game is set in Paris during World War II. In Saboteur you play as an Nazi fighting hero looking for revenge. This GTA/Fallout-like game, allows you to roam as an Irish badass with a Wolverine (Xmen) type of attitude. The design and feel of the game makes you feel as if you’re there with him (Sean Devlin) the entire time. Fight, jump and stealth your way to revenge in this incredibly fun adventure.
The Last Story – Wii
This beautiful RPG Wii game scores a 10 on everything from graphics to music. This underrated game allows you to participate in incredible battles, magic, in a seemingly never-ending adventure. The combat in The Last Story is spectacular and unlike any other RPG game you’ve seen. How can you go wrong with this game? With a great story, character development, and environment the Last Story is truly one of the most underrated games of all-time. If you don’t have this game for the Wii you are missing out.
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars – Wii
Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All Stars might be the most underrated fighting game of all-time. The game allows you to play as Capcom and Tatsunoko (Anime production company) personnel such as Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken the Eagle and more. What makes the game so fun is the gameplay, which includes unique techniques, easy controllers, and beautiful scenes. Quite frankly the game is just a blast!
General Chaos – Sega Genesis
General Chaos is one of those games that you never forget. This Sega Genesis gem might be the most fun and addicting gaming experience you’ll ever have. In this point and click real-time strategy game you are a general of your own five-man army. In the game, you fight on different battlefields and have the option to fight with different type of soldiers (flamethrower, rifle handler, dynamite expert, grenade thrower, and a long-range shooter). General Chaos is one of those games that never gets old, if you don’t have a Sega Genesis, play this it on emulator, you won’t regret it.
